Shower Caulk Refresh and Reseal

The caulk along the tub-to-wall seam in this Eagan bathroom had turned yellow and brittle, with gaps opening up along the solid-surface surround. Discolored, failing caulk like that lets water get behind the wall, so the homeowner called before it turned into a bigger repair.
I scraped out the old, deteriorated caulk down to a bare seam, then cleaned the surface thoroughly so the new bead would adhere well and vacuumed up the debris. I masked the seam with painter’s tape for a clean line, ran a fresh bead of caulk, and tooled it before pulling the tape. Rather than stripping the whole perimeter, I blended the new caulk into the sections that were still in good shape, covering the main corner near the fixtures and the far end of the tub.
The tub surround now has a crisp, continuous white caulk line with no staining or gaps. The new caulk blends right into the untouched sections, so the whole perimeter reads as one clean repair.
